la gordita

The food here is pretty much amazing (most days...) and there is sooo much of it! This morning we had fried french toast (to die for!), cheesecake-ish stuff (for breakfast!), fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, cereal, yogurt, 3 kinds of juice, milk, hot chocolate and don't forget the pitas and rolls with jam, honey and peanut butter. And that was just breakfast! Lunch and dinner are even bigger! And the servers do not understand what "just a little bit please" means!

This presents a small problem for me that is getting bigger and bigger every day. I think I'm starting to get fat! I'm not 100% sure since I have never experienced this phenomenon before but my stomach isn't quite as flat as it used to be and my pants are getting a little bit snug around the waist. So I have a question for you. Should I:
  • roll with the punches and come home chubby?
  • start working out? We do have a gym right upstairs.
  • stop stuffing my face at every meal?

What do you think? I really need some help with this potentially life changing decision. I mean if I get fat who knows if I will ever go back? And I would have to buy new clothes and let's be honest...I'm coming home from Jerusalem/Egypt/Jordan with souvenirs not cash. If I start exercising that means I will probably have to get up early or something. But I guess those would both be good habits to develop. And the food is so delicious and abundant that it is hard to have self control. I really need your advice so click below and leave a comment to let me know what you think would be best! And now I'm off to lunch! :)

This was my mom's response via e-mail. I thought it was funny so I decided to post it for her.

Hey, I can't respond on your blog because I don't have an account. And I don't really want one. But stop stuffing your face. Do you want to look like me? You can only have desert on Sundays. That's what I had to do at the MTC. And it wouldn't hurt to get in the habit of exercising. DO NOT grow out of your clothes!!!
Love,
MOM
